Another Great Day at Typo Station Community Open Day!
|
A chance for the community to explore and share our beautiful King Valley property, Typo Station, our Open Day is a popular feature on the Evolve calendar. Typo is 'home-base' for many of our programs for at-risk youth and is a real catalyst for the changes our young people go on to make in their lives. Highlights of our Community Open Day in 2011 included: • 2011 Typo Sheaf Toss & Crosscut Saw Championships were tightly contested - for this year's winners, visit our Hall of Fame here! • 2011 Community Challenge Trophies - Rotarians, Lions, CWA ladies and all other community group representatives chellenged in the sheaf toss and crosscut for their own titles! While North Melbourne Rotary took out the crosscut for the second year running, there was no such luck when reigning champion Gavin Lewis from the club handed the trophy to Evolve's own Angus McPherson... • Young Men’s Program Graduation Ceremony, where visitors joined us to celebrate the amazing, inspiring two-year journey of four of the 33 young fellas who chose to turn their lives around in 2009 • Tours and pioneer workshop demonstrations • Schools Bush Yarns Competition display & winners, with Alex van G and Porter M from Whitfield and Porepunkah Primary Schools taking out the major prizes! |
