Evolve's New Bush Fire Recovery Program

As the devastating impact of the Black Saturday bushfires continues to become known and communities sustain efforts to rebuild, Evolve has partnered with the Department of Education (Hume Region) to assist in responding to those affected by this disaster.

In conjunction with Yea High School, Alexandra Secondary College and the local community, Evolve will work to respond to the needs of young men who are exhibiting indications of increased risk of social and developmental effects of the trauma of the bushfires. Under an innovative and unique 12-month program model, combining Narrative therapeutic approaches in a bush setting as well as intensive in-school support (in collaboration with school welfare teams and community networks) Evolve will look to support these young people to develop the resilience necessary to grow towards health and positivity in the future.

As this program begins, Evolve looks forward to the challenges that will lie ahead and the privilege of working with, and learning from, these courageous and strong individuals, families and communities,. We look forward to sharing this journey as it unfolds with the wider Evolve community.
