Title: Typo Station Community & Kitchen Manager (Victoria) In a Nutshell: Providing good tucker and making the kitchen a positive environment for the hard working staff and participants.
Tools of the trade: A diversity of workplace and life experience putting me in contact with a range of people, communities and ways of getting things done. In A Past Life: Boat builidng apprentice, punk saxophonist, council worker, union rep, employment program supervisor, river & bushland regenerator, chef & hospitality slave. Why Evolve? “The ethic of finding your own path, the opportunity to work with dedicated, good-humoured people and there's only so much satisfaction to be had from feeding people fancy food!” Where I go for my ‘Wilderness Therapy’: East Gippsland estuaries, beaches & forests. Place I grew up: The wilds of Mount Waverley, Melbourne - before the creeks were drains and the freeway was still a swamp. Furry support crew: Polly-Jean, friendly wild dog from Swifts Creek. Two things I can’t live without: Fresh food, grown and served with love, and watching the Richmond Tigers at the MCG. Two things I can live without: Fundamentalism & litter left in precious places by thoughtless people. Not many people know this, but: I danced on stage at the Palais Theatre with Johnny Rotten.
