The Youth Enterprise Trust

YET_new_logo.jpgYouth Enterprise Trust (YET), was established in 1991 when founder Lloyd Hancock put into action his own passionate belief that every individual has their own personal and vocational gifts. His vision and dedication inspired the commitment of all those who contributed to YET over the years. The YET program initiative encouraged many young people to help themselves, take responsibility for their actions and believe in their own abilities and strengths.

YET was set up on a 300 acre farm, Woodstock, in South East Queensland. Commended for its 19-year history of running the renown Wilderness Program for disadvantaged youth, the charity expanded in 2009 to offer challenging preventative, vocational, leadership and personal development programs that enable young people in need to reconnect with themselves and with their communities.

In late 2009, conversations between Evolve at Typo Station and YET took place; long-term sustainability, increasing program demands, limited operational capacity and the need to improve efficiency were key elements discussed verifying the benefits one national organisation could deliver.
