Readjusting to home after the initial stay at our rural properties can be challenging for the young people taking part in our Evolving Futures programs, but their parents/guardians can find it a challenging experience too. Evolve's Community Support Workers acknowledge their role in supporting parents/guardians through the transition.

Evolve hosts a dinner for up to parents/carers with young people taking part in our programs several times a year. The dinner involves a sharing of stories about the residential experience by our Youth Workers and gives parents a chance to build support networks with families in similar circumstances to themselves. Evolve believes it is very important for families with young people experiencing difficulties to feel well supported and that they are not alone.

Supporting a parent/guardian dinner will help parents build a support network where they can share their highs and lows of raising young folk who are finding the road a bit bumpy at the moment.
